Sunday Folks · weekly & free

Five tested recipes. One grocery list.
Every Sunday.

A short, opinionated email at 7am Sundays. The week's GF + DF dinner plan, the one product I'd buy at Trader Joe's, and the recipe failure I'm currently mourning. Free, no nonsense, unsubscribe in one click.

This week's plan

The week the oven gave up.

Hi folks — I'm writing this with a meatloaf in the toaster oven because the real one died on Friday. So this week's plan leans heavily on stovetops and sheet pans. (RIP Frigidaire.)

PS — the cookies stay good for 4 days.
I tested.
What's actually in the email

No fluff. No "5 reasons to love fall." Just dinner.

Sunday Folks is the email I wished I'd had in 2019. Here's what arrives every week.

01

The week's 5 dinners

Hand-picked from the archive, sequenced so leftovers don't fight. All GF + DF unless you opted into more.

02

One grocery list

Combined, deduped, organized by aisle. Print it, screenshot it, hand it to your partner.

03

One product review

One thing I've cooked with this week — usually a GF/DF product. Sometimes "skip it." Always honest.

04

What flopped

The recipe I'm currently failing at. Cooking is mostly recovery — I'd rather we figure it out together.

The cadence

One email a week. That's it.

I won't sell your email. I won't run "FLASH SALE" promos. I won't email you on holidays. The schedule is simple, and it has been simple for seven years.

Sun · 7am

The Sunday plan

5 dinners + grocery list, one product review, one cooking flop. Always.

Wed · rare

A new recipe drop

Only when something new hits the site. Maybe twice a month.

Holidays

Thanksgiving brief

One survival guide each November. The only one of the year. Promise.

Never

Anything else

No drip campaigns, no upsells, no "we miss you!" emails. Ever.

— Sara P., Austin
★★★★★

"Subscribed three years ago. Still here. Still cooking. Still no spam. Worth it."

— Lauren K., Portland

Tiny FAQ.

Is it really free?

Yes. We make money from ads on the site and a few honest affiliate links. The newsletter is the front door — keeping it free is non-negotiable.

Will you sell my email?

Never. Your email lives in our newsletter tool (currently Buttondown), full stop. We don't run partner promos, swap lists, or sell data.

How do I unsubscribe?

One click in the footer of any issue. No "are you sure?" page. No retention guilt. We take it personally exactly zero amount.

What if I'm not GF or DF?

Lots of subscribers aren't. The recipes happen to be GF + DF — they're also just dinner. You'll be fine.

Can I see a back issue first?

Absolutely. Email hello@savoryfolks.com with "send me one" and we'll forward last Sunday's.
